Okay, can someone help me out with a counter for those R/D "Lawnmowers" as I call them? It's the Scythe wielding Ranger build that uses high expertise to spam scythe attacks, many of which remove enchantments.

Is it as simple as normal anti-melee Mes/Necro hexes? Has anyone had any luck combating this annoyingly devastating build? Thanks

whats the build they are using and are you going melee on them cause there is a nice dervish skill that takes all enchantments away called Rending Aura, then theres Rending Touch that takes one away for the person using it and the target foe but let me know if you figure out the build i would like to see it

Wow. /slaps self for leaving info out of original post

Specifically this build is found in TA/HA so the counter i'm looking for here is more of a team strategy maybe then a direct 1v1 scrim situation.

I SHOULD have asked, has anyone created a TA/HA team build that is NOT devastated by these melee monstrosities?

The best working defense I've seen against them so far is defensive STANCES. That's not to say a stance removal skill could not be used by the Lawnmower, but I don't think it's normally included. Even with a defensive stance though, the end result has always been the same.

*Edit. I was able to find one PvX build which seems similar to the icons on the left of my screen showing what hit me. http://www.pvxwiki.com/wiki/Build:R/D_Escape_Scythe

Ok, been playing in ra/ta a bit, seen these buggers, but I didn't really take much note of them at the time. I run a Rt/Ele grasping earth, (energy glyph thingy, don't remember name), Grasping was Kuurong, Aftershock, Ancestors Rage,Nightmare Weapon, Ward Against Melee, and Res siggy.

The spike is good, lotsa pbaoe, the slowdown is good, the lifestealing is good vs. those random weird 55ish builds you see every now and again, and does heal a bit. The ward also helps against the annoying buggers. Being a rit... they often come right for you...

This build does need a decent monk for support often though, however, it's good at 1v1 scrimmages.

i think i worked out a possible necro build to help deal with the escape scythe ranger, i showed the build to Creig when i put it together, its basicly using rigour mortis adn defile dences, its just a matter of finding a cover hex or 2 to go over in case of a expel
